A friend of mine went on a “boys’ trip” to Vegas last year. Instead of enjoying the company of friends, he spent the entire weekend mad about all the work he had waiting for him back at the office. Later, he admitted missing everything that should have been great about his vacation.
If you simply focus on being out of a job (or trying to land a job), you will miss out on the experiences that make networking so enriching. Think of it this way: at what other point in your life will you take this much time to meet so many people again? Certainly not when you’re working.

Remember what Don Johnson was like? Cool. That's how we're gonna be -- cool. Critical is fine, but if you're rude, we'll delete your stuff. Please do not put your URL in the comment text and please use your PERSONAL name or initials and not your business name, as the latter comes off like spam. Have fun and thanks for adding to the conversation! (Thanks to Tim Ferriss for the inspiration)
